The CCP preconference provides an overview of the CCP certification online program, CCP member resources and exam. After July 31, attendees receive access to the 40-hour CCP online program and a CCP program manual. CCP includes archived and live health coach training webinars and the largest MI training video training library. The online 40-hour program and examination must be completed before CCP certification and CE hours are awarded. CCP meets one training requirement for the Registered Health Coach (RHC) credential. Motivational Interviewing (MI) Health Coaching Skill-Building Workshop

Our popular two-day, hands-on workshop is specifically designed for clinician and nonclinician members of the health care team, as well as specialists in phone or face-to-face wellness, disease management or care management programs. Workshops are facilitated by a team of MINT health care specialists and clinicians. This HealthSciences Institute workshop has been updated in 2012 to incorporate the latest MI and health behavior change research and interventions, including material from Miller and Rollnick’s 2012 updated Motivational Interviewing: Preparing People to Change (3rd Edition). You’ll learn about a new MI health coaching framework and exciting revisions to the theory and practice of MI in health care settings.
The workshop features an advanced action learning framework to support competency development. This workshop builds on MI content and resources from the Chronic Care Professional (CCP) program. Case studies and practice examples for improving patient engagement, self-care, adherence and lifestyle management will be offered. A MI Skill-Building Workshop Manual is provided to each attendee and all attendees receive the new MI DVD: Evidence-Based Health Coaching: MI in Action. CCP is a recommended, but not required prerequisite. The MI Skill-Building Workshop meets one training requirement for the Registered Health Coach (RHC) credential.

Validated standards for health coach training and proficiency are not widely used. As a result, health coaches are often challenged to engage at risk individuals and deliver optimal lifestyle management, adherence or disease self-care outcomes. The Registered Health Coach (RHC) program "raises the bar" on health coaching practice by providing a health coaching competency ladder and national recognition program based on these standards. Registered Health Coaches are listed in the PartnersinImprovement National Health Coach Registry. Learn what is takes to become a Registered Health Coach and why this credential, incorporating CCP, will be the first "gold standard" for health coaches among employers, payers and consumers.

Achieving Breakthrough Results: Key Strategies for Better Engagement, Quality & Purchaser Outcomes

Engagement rates define the success of any medical home, ACO or wellness, disease management and care management program. Each needs a strategic plan for engaging patients beyond traditional patient education approaches and financial incentives--which research conclusively shows do not lead to long term behavior change and measurable clinical outcomes. This workshop will highlight findings from a 2011 National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded study by HealthSciences Institute faculty and how these finding were used to achieve engagement rates four-times industry rates in real-world settings. You’ll also learn how moving beyond traditional quality assurance approaches, programs can achieve significant gains in engagement, as well as better patient-level clinical and cost results.
