Dr. Wilde is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University, medical school at Indiana University, residency in Pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia, and fellowships in both Infectious Diseases and Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital. His primary research and teaching interests are influenza, meningitis, and the appropriate use of antibiotics. He has authored over 60 journal articles and textbook chapters.
Dr. Wilde holds current Board Certification in Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Wilde served for several years as Director of the Georgia chapter of CDC’s “Get Smart” (about antibiotics) program. He has also been active in Pandemic Flu planning at the local, regional, and State level.
